No they aren't stupid, they just don't give a shit.
Yeah; I know. As one of the commentors pointed out, dogs will eat anything that is food, and anything that *might* be food, and just about anything that probably isn't food but fits in their mouth anyway.
A cat who has been starving for three days will still refuse to eat kibble if it is not of the *proper* sort.
