String Dimensions

Looks like another test for string theory has been devised. With so many possible tests being suggested nowadays, I can't help but think something will happen in this field, soon.

Hmm. I wonder if anyone's thought of modelling a string-simplified universe on a computer, and turning it into an MMORPG?

Even if it is disproven, it could still be fun to play with...

The problem unfortunately, still lies in the strings themselves and their mathamatical representations being too limiting. You can create and model as many dimensions as you want, but no one can effectively prove that the dimensions exist, beyond some very pretty mathamatical tomfoolery.

Either way, I hope it's much more likely that once the LHC comes online later this year, the whole field will be put aside and quantum gravity gets the attention it deserves. Until they can find a simple, elegant way of clicking gravity into the whole thing, any concept of a unified field theory is decades away.
