The Country Got a Stimulus...

... but all I got was this lousy T-shirt. In a nutshell:

  • If you're into, around, or part of big government, The Stimulus is definitely full of win for you.
  • If you didn't pay any taxes to begin with, well, here's some more of everyone else's money... go have some babies or something.
  • If you work for the most expensive, least successful public school system in the world, cash is heading your way soon.
  • We here in Northern Virginia would like to thank the rest of the country for (presumably) paying off the remainder of the funds required to get Metro to run the Silver Line out to Dulles. Next time you're out this way be sure to take a ride!
  • If there's anything that's been bothering your liberal little heart, some corner of the country the government hasn't poked its finger in to do us all some good, well, celebrations are also in order for you... that seems to be the real purpose of the whole thing.

Don't fit anywhere above? Hey, welcome to the club, we have jackets!

I love this comment:

Highways repaved for the first time in decades. Century-old waterlines dug up and replaced with new pipes. Aging bridges, stressed under the weight of today's SUVs, reinforced with fresh steel and concrete.

Maybe it's just me, but unless said bridge was built in the 1980s, I'm thinking that older vehicles weigh as much or more than older vehicles. Alternatively, if it's not as much, the entry level vehicles weighed more, so they'd make up for the stress levels.

At best, this should be restated that additional traffic volume coupled with general degredation of the infrastructure means it needs to be repaired. But to blame it on SUVs? Teh stoopid is strong here.

I could not agree with you more. I kept saying he doesn't have the experience but I didn't realize how much on the job training he would need. I still keep thinking about McCain's health and Sarah Palan becoming president. Geeez, I hate agreeing with you on politics just doesn't seem right. Lol

It's too bad the majority of those who voted for him won't realize the monster they've created until it's too late.

oh.
