Hot Fish

BBCnews is carrying this report on the discovery of yet another new species of "extreme fish". These critters live, as you'd expect, at the bottom of the ocean near thermal vents. The interesting part is they seem to enjoy skipping across pools of molten sulfur at temperatures of up to 350 degrees.

And they probably aren't that tasty, either. However, things like this could be argued, anecdotally, to support the life on other planets. Had anyone asked me if something could actually survive contact (not only survive, but appear to be unharmed) with something that hot, I'd have said it wasn't possible.

Hmm - maybe Venus could have life?

What rhymes with Venus?
