Looks Like Ellen's Wish is Coming True

Giuliani has taken the first formal step toward a presidential run. "Testing the waters" right now, but with the polling I've seen the water seems to be pretty warm, at least for now.

hmm - let's see here:
1 - cleaned up Manhattan and made NYC livable.
2 - managed the post-9/11 New York in order to get things up and running.
3 - is typically liked by many folks.
4 - could help ensure that NY votes Republican in the '08 election.

At first glance, he makes the best candidate for the country. Rice and McCain are also pretty good candidates, for differing reasons. The main question would be who'd be the best person to run the country?

*cough*not hillary*cough*

In the polls I've seen floated in various MSM sources, Giuliani polls slightly ahead or slightly behind Hillary. Probably depends on who you ask.

Of course, calling it now is like trying to pick who's going to win the Superbowl in June. There's a whole lot of "anything can happen" time between now and then.

In other words, "If [Bill Clinton | George Bush] can get elected, *anybody* can."

I don't think we have to worry about Hilary. The only people that seem to like her are blue staters.

To everyone else she's a shrill, manipulative...well, you know. Even women that I know from "that vast part of the country between the seacoasts" where I come from would rather see almost ANYBODY but Hilary in the White House (again)!

I don't want Hillary to run either but not for the same reason. I think a GOP president would be fine as long as the congress stays Democratic. I think the same party controlling all parts of our government is not good for the country. Now if someone could manage to throw out all the lobbists I would feel much better.
Giulani is carry a load of baggage with him also but I think given the choices so far, I would vote for him. Of course I am sure lightning would strike me dead! lol
