Halo Update

Also from Slashdot, the latest news on Halo-3. Depending on the price, that edition with the helmet sounds mighty tempting. Hey, if you're going to be geeky and play video games in the basement, why not go all the way?

The real question for me is, can I really justify buying a whole X-box 360 for just one game. One of those, "your money or your life?" dilemmas.

I'm thinking! I'm thinking!

You know what'd be tits? If they'd actually incorporate the helmet into gameplay. Something like using it for visual display and sound. As you move your head, the display moves appropriately. You'd still have to use your joystick to move the character so you could see behind you and change right to center, but damn if that wouldn't be cool.

Then, you incorporate the microphone for XBox live into the helmet and we can all get our geek on over that thar intraweb-thingee.

For that, I'd buy the new Xbox.

Question is, how many people would buy a helmet that costs more than an XBox 360?

Well, I would. Especially because the technology would likely transfer to other games during round two. What'd be really cool is that you could also use that to aim, much like a certain gun system in a chopper...

damn, that'd be cool.
