Perry

There was a fishy death in our house last night. Perry the all mighty super sized fancy tail goldfish, could no longer take the computer game Scott was playing and had a stroke (well, something happened to him since it happened in front of Scott).

Perhaps it was like one of those Japanese cartoons that caused all those kids to seizure? No one will ever know.

MOP also died this past month. Her left eyeball popped out and she died a week later.

Personally I think there is a fishy conspiracy in the tank going on. Maybe it's the Pleco...

I am sorry you learned the hard way as I did.
The reddish "road rash" from a suckermouth attack is hidden by the goldfish's natural orange-red color. Fish that have "peeled" areas can die of shock from electrolyte and plasma loss.
Any suckermouthed fish can only be kept solitary, or with other fish that you dont mind losing. I now keep my pleco in a tank of ever-breeding guppys which would otherwise become overpopulated.

No, it was not the pleco. There were no sore on the fish. I looked him over very well. (being an LVT does help quite a bit). The whole fish was clean.

I meant it as a joke about the Pleco.

I've had a pleco for years and he's never eaten or sucked on any of my fish. I've never heard of that.
