Ozone + Cholesterol = DED

Looks like that whole "fresh air and sunshine" crap may have something to it:

Numerous studies have linked heart disease and air pollution, particularly smog. Smog--a toxic brew of chemicals and molecules such as ozone--seems to exacerbate heart disease, leading to an increase in heart attacks and fatalities. But researchers have yet to discover the pathway by which smog impacts the cardiovascular system. Now a new study shows how ozone's byproducts in the body can harden arteries and cause heart disease.

Can't wait to see what sort of goofy gadgets this news brings out.

I wonder what will happen to the air purifier market when they realize that ionized air = ozone?

They'll add another de-ionizer on top of their ionizer. That way, they'll still remove the contaminents, ionize it to help purify it, the de-ionize it for your health.

Dammit, we should all be passing out cigarettes for a smoke-a-thon on earth day.

Of course, staying inside and keeping the air on gives you all those wonderful household chemicals, formaldehyde from the carpets...and in extreme cases, cat pee and cat dander. So getting out on the bike or on the hiking trail is good..until you start breathing the lovely CO and O3 and other pollutants.

In short, damned if you do, damned if you don't. :-)

yes - but at least getting out keeps other problems at bay (assuming one is exercizing. And no, I'm currently not. I'm moving and getting settled.) - which might tip the scale, no?
