So what happens on one of the coldest days of the year? An f'ing gas break that knocks the heat out to the whole neighborhood! So I'm at home waiting for the repair guy to arrive, sitting next to the heater that was supposed to just keep the garage warm. Updates may be infrequent, as I have to periodically hold my hands over the thing to keep them warm.

Good I am glad. Now you will appreciate my house.
Ha! True story:
Something very similar once happened at "Granny's" house a few years ago. I answered the phone when she called, and she says "Scott... there's no heat on in our house!", (must be said in a NY accent... 'Skhat... theyas no heet on in ahhouse!') "It's 58 degrees in here!"
"So", I said, "you're wearing shorts, yes?"
I am with you Granny, my thermostat is set on 55 degrees and ice is hanging on the fence. LOL
