While Ellen was in the final stages of labor the nurse started coaching the cheerleading section, which up until that time was sitting rather quietly. Half-hearted "go!" and "push!" cheers were slowly replaced with more energetic chants as the labor progressed. I later learned Kris wasn't able to cheer because she kept holding her breath every time Ellen pushed.
Once the midwife handed Ellen the knotted towel they turned into our very own black-clad Abbot and Costello:
Nurse: "Come on guys! Cheer!"
[together] Kris: "Pull!" Damion: "Push!"
Kris: "No, pull."
Damion: "Pull? I thought we were pushing."
Kris: "No, she's pulling."
Damion: "When did we switch to pulling?"
Kris: "When the midwife gave her the towel silly."
Damion: "I don't see any towel. Where's the towel? Are you sure we're not pushing?"
Kris: "The towel's right there you goob!"
Ellen: "NNNNggggggggg!!!!!"
