Hope and Change

LA Times: U.S. may expand use of its prison in Afghanistan. Bonus: "[It was decided it would be better to kill a suspected terrorist than take him alive] because of uncertainty over where to hold him." See, folks on the left side of the peanut gallery seem to think the reason our government is f'd is because they haven't found the right set of politicians to run the place. The folks on my side know that all politicians are f'd, and the only hope we have is to take as much power as we can away from them all, and as quickly as possible.

If only there were an existing facility where one might detain a person of this nature. One where we could appropriately question an individual and then make a determination as to how to proceed.

If only a place like this existed somewhere in the world already all of our problems would go away.

Surely you're not suggesting that horrific hole in the Caribbean might be useful?!? That festering boil of injustice foisted on us by Dick Cheney and Karl Rove? The only reason that pit existed was because those evil people didn't have the stomach to do what they really wanted, which was of course to KILL those misunderstood patriots. Now that the PROPER people are in power, we'll close that place to ensure it's never used again, and we deal with them properly...

Oh... wait...

The humor will be the defense that Obama's fans put out there. Especially if I was motivated enough to go find quotes about how Gitmo was teh eveels and against all laws but this is good because it'll fart unicorns and fairies and everyone will love it.

Sometimes lack of experience in your leadership is a good thing. Other times it's just plain embarrassing.
