You've Gotta be Kidding Me

So, is the Obama administration deliberately targeting Chrysler dealerships who contributed to the GOP for closure, or is it just more paranoid ravings from the right? The Obama administration definitely has the arrogance, and the inexperience, to pull a stunt like this. After all, they doubtless have no expectation of being caught. Certainly the MSM will do nothing until the evidence is so colorful it starts to sell other people's newspapers.

Scott,
I think this is more ravings on the right. I'll have to see their proof on this one.

What's interesting is the claims that many being closed are profitable. What would make this go away would be some of that transparency that Obama's been talking about. Let us know the criteria. It could be that they're keeping the larger volume dealers within a certain area, that there's a minimum profitability requirement, or something along those lines. Letting us know that would allow a very quick audit to make sure that it's correct. If so, non-issue. Well, a non-issue with regards to who gets closed but the criteria can be argued.

OTOH, if they don't release the criteria and it can be shown that there appears to be a disparate targeting (via something like more profitable but strongly Republican dealerships getting the ax but weaker and strong Democrat ones not, demonstrated across the board) then we get to jump on it.

However, since we're lacking the second portion, all we can do is argue for the transparency.
