After the Fact

It seems the Olympic medals of disgraced athletes have a pretty interesting story to tell. Who knew?

Of course I find the fact that Sydney bronze medals were made from melted-down obsolete Australian 1 and 2 cent pieces fascinating.

If we did that here with ours, they'd have to make new medal category:

Interesting point.

One thing I find hard to reconcile is that the Marion Jones medals are "five of the most defiled medals in Olympic history". I don't remember all of the ins and outs of the Olympics, but I'm sure there are greater scandals out that there than that. 1972 basketball comes to mind (and is mentioned), so I'd call those defiled.
