The owner of a tiny island in off Scotland declared its independence from the United Kingdom on Saturday, saying he wanted the territory, population one, to be a crown dependency like the Channel Islands.
The British have a long and varied tradition of cherishing eccentricity. Looks like they've got yet another entry right here.
Bad sailing accomplishes what has eluded libertarians for decades.
Just goes to show, sometimes its better to be lucky than ideologically pure.
Well, that and manage to plop yourself into a situation where there might be legal grounds for your claim.
Of course, I'm wondering how someone living in a tent on the island manages to support himself...
