Scientists have developed the first completely autonomous seaplane. At only slightly bigger than a pelican, it's not going to set any lift records, but it definitely represents an interesting solution to yet another aviation problem.

At first this would seem to be a useful invention, until one realizes that it was developed by that school in the state up north. Then you read about how they did it and realize it was done as simply as possible. Mostly because they're too damn stupid to do it right.

Ann Arbor is still our whore. And remember, first is rarely best in something like this.
