WHY Do Guys Do Stupid Crap Like This?

Can't you be happy with a flag attached to the back of your bike?

Funny, knowing how certain pair of females in my acquaintance behave, it could just as easily been a woman doing "stupid crap like this". Except that for you two the snake would still be alive when transporting it...though probably afflicted with some debilitating disease or injury...
