Even More than Meets the Eye

The full theatrical trailer for Transformers is now available. It's a sad movie indeed which can't be made to look interesting in two and a half minutes, but if nothing else it sure does look like it blows up real good. Here's to hoping that it also doesn't just blow.

Looks like it's gonna be as good as Doom was.

You know, about the only thing that could save it would be if they actually did re-invent Megatron as a transforming fondue pot. Then it would at least reach "unintentionally funny" status.

Soooo much hate for this movie that doesn't even exist yet.

I wonder if people would be as ticked if it weren't called "Transformers"...if they could separate the the movie from trendy, pointless navel-gazing "newstalgia".

I have to say, though, this movie looks violent. I think that there are going to be a lot of disappointed parents coming out of this one; "I thought Transformers was a kid's show, and I took all my under-ten kids..."

Maybe if there wasn't already a Transformers movie, with one of the most emotional robot death scenes since the end of "Terminator 2."

I can see only failure in this new movie.

I can say that I wouldn't be ticked as I'm not ticked now. But even if it wasn't called Transformers, it just doesn't look that good to me. I'm all for "blowed up good" movies, as well as cool technology and the like - but this one just doesn't look well-acted. Maybe it's just the trailer, but I'm not feeling too good about it.
