The Shapes of Things to Come

Forbes.com is carrying this interesting article describing "10 things that will change the way we live" (gotta love the media for their abilities at understatement, no?) While I think the "$200 barrel of oil" bit is jarring, out of place, and just plain wrong, the rest are quite interesting.

Pfeh. Nearly every single technology listed is unworkable, unfeasable, or already obsolete. Weren't they the guys that claimed flying cars and holographic TVs would change the world, back in the 80s?

There are always these sorts of random "top 10 future" lists that come out regularly. From my recollection, they are almost always incorrect. But then again, if you managed to invest in all ten and then one hits, you could make a nice bankroll...
