Insert "Goldmember" Joke Here

Lord help me if our cats ever need this:

Veterinarians at Rome's zoo treated an elderly lion for arthritis by inserting some 50 gold pellets into the animal's muscles, officials said Wednesday.

The Asian lion, named Bellamy, had difficulty walking until the procedure two weeks ago in which 24-karat gold pellets were inserted into his spinal muscles near the joints, said the zoo's chief veterinarian, Klaus Gunther Friedrich.

here kitty, kitty, kitty. Never you mind this anesthesia and sharp knife. Daddy needs a new [insert random new shiney toy].

Of course, with a lion, you might want to gas the entire cage first...

Gold has been a standard treatment for Rhumatoid Arthritis until the last 5-10 years when all the new drugs have come on the market. Of course my Remicade IV treatments cost $2700 which is probably more than the gold would cost. Thank goodness for insurance I couldn't afford the treatments without it.

The $2700 is per treatment which I will have every other month after I finish the first three treatments in 6 weeks. Now we will see if I can catch James and Olivia this Christmas and climb all those @#$% stairs. lol
