Busybodies on the Airwaves

Making the rounds: 99.8 percent of all FCC complaints in the past two years have come from a single advocacy group, the Parents Television Council. Predictably, the soft-headed moonbats that inhabit the bellfries of Slashdot and Fark are "aghast... aghast I tell you!!!" at the ability of a single right-wing organization to make them watch cable TV. Their outrage is quite palpable.

Meanwhile the complete destruction of regular people's hopes and dreams by a loony-left organization goes completely unremarked.

Remember folks, it's only hypocrisy when someone else is talking.

I thought it might be a disgruntled employee, but this theory does make more sense...

Hope they had insurance.

How can you say these things are ignored. This has been all over the news since it happened with dire warnings that these people are the most dangerous of our home grown terrorists.

One of the things I hate most about Bush Jr's re-election is that I have to see Gingrich's smiling face and hear Pat Robertson every time I turn on TV.

Sorry I promise I wasn't going to do any more commenting.

Yeah I agree with Pat. I have seen this on all the stations that we have up and running here at work. Actually I have seen the fire story several times and not one peep regarding the FCC complaints. The only way I found out about the FCC was via Fark.

It's more about contrasting the reactions of the groups to the two events. The simple manipulation brought them out of the woodwork like little I've seen before, and the reactions were spectacular, while the terrorism went completely unremarked.

Yeah, I know, I shouldn't obsess about these people so much. I gotta get some new hobbies.

I did a quick bit of research on this and have found that, aside from the initial reports, nothing else has apparently shown up on the housing fires. I expected this as I don't think the folks have completed their investigations and they likely don't want any interferance due to media leaks and the like.

As for the second, it's a bit surprising to see the magnitude of their complaints - and the impact that they're having on the way the FCC prosecutes these cases. It'll be interesting to see if Fox's defense works to get the fines lifted.

And yet, you've let far more patronizing jokes about women pass unremarked, carrie... Maybe it was a bit too close to the truth?

First, congratulations for posting your comment on the wrong thread.

Second, this happened to be the first one that I have remarked on. What's your point? Doesnt mean that I didnt notice them. I can choose to comment or not comment. Oh look there I go thinking for myself again. And I didnt even ask a friend if I should or not.

Third, your comment inferring that women dont think for themselves is generalizing and demeaning. Just because women, like all people, occasionally ask the opinion of others doesnt mean that they dont think for themselves. Pose this comment to the women in your life and see what thier reaction is. I dont believe that you will find it favorable.
