Half-Life 2 has officially gone gold:

Days after last week's Rumor Control brought news that Half-Life 2 had gone gold and was being sent off to Vivendi Universal for approval and manufacturing, the publisher confirmed that the game has gone gold and announced, finally, its release date: November 16.

I got this one as part of my new computer upgrades last spring. Of course, I'll have to wait a week or two for the crush to pass by, but that's OK. Halo 2 will be out around that time and that'll keep me plenty busy.

speaking of Halo 2 - when's the official party to start in on it? Or should I be the one organizing a campaign to finish it within days of it's release?

The official HGD Board (Halo Game Day) has been meeting and trying to hammer out details to confirm the next HGD event. The talks are going well and we hope to have a final date soon. So far all indications lead toward the weekend after the release of H2 or the following weekend.

Will keep you up-to-date as decisions emerge.
