Cat Clone, Cat Cuddle

BBCnews is carrying this report by a woman who's actually seen/petted/been crawled on by two cloned kitties. Apparently, if you weren't told you'd never know the difference.

Since most of ours have genetic things wrong with them, I'm not sure any of them are candidates.

I have two problems with what they're doing. First, when you bring more cats into the world you take up homes that other kitties living or dying in shelters could use. This is why you spay or neuter the ones you have. Second, I worry about the trauma of press attention on these two sweeties.

I'm also slightly concerned that they're using genetic information from a cell that's already been around a while. I hope the kitties don't have unnecessarially short lives because people were stupid.

yea, i agree with Sherri, it is totally wrong, theres gotta be a catch. If God would have wanted another cat in the world, he would have put it here Himself! It surely was not intended to have such a thing as "cloning." this is the type of thing i stay up at night praying that this would all come to an end. Think about what the animals are going through! What if someone did that to you?!

God gave us a choice to live life and leave the dead dead, some idiots chose the wrong one . Leave the dead alone I say. How dare you wake the dead from eternal life in Heaven. It's better there, even if you miss that poor cat , dog, or other animal! I know how it is to watch a living creater die right in front of you. But if I could tak her life back I wouldn't because I wouldn't have my beautiful little cat who is soon to have kittens. So you chose making there life worse by bringing them back, or leave them in the hands of God!
