Happy 35th!

This one snuck up on us all... next Tuesday is the 35th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing (the launch date anniversary is today). Ok, that "thud" you heard was my mom falling over. Don't worry folks, she falls down a lot.

Sometimes I worry the nutballs in the turban-and-virgin-fetish crowd might have a shot at us. At least, until I remember that we put men on the moon before most of them were born, and they're still sitting inside caves. Then I don't worry as much.

I just get mad.

You know, I just had a thought on that. They're a bunch of guys, sitting in caves, with no women? Hell, keep them on the run for awhile and all of the young ones will defect so they can get a little action...

That might be the easiest way to defeat the terrorists...

This is also near the anniversary of Teddy Kennedy's lethal encounter with a bridge at Chappaquidick.

The connection to Apollo 11 can be found at the Experimental Aircraft Museum in Oshkosh Wisconsin. Their historic display of the Apollo 11 mission includes a preserved newspaper. Front and center is the report on the moon landing but, off to one side on the same page is a report on Ted's adventure.

I have a 25th anniversary commemorative coffee mug. It has an image of lunar craters on it. Had to buy that since crater is the Greek word for cup.
