Worst Cars of the Millenium

Car Talk's poll of the worst cars of the millenium is out.

How many of you out there owned or had a family member that owned one of these cars?

All these vehicles were way to new. My first car was a '65 Rambler. It sat on the street more than it actually went down the road!

yeah, but the PT Cruiser isn't on the list.....

seriously, I owned two of those cars.... The Chevy Chevette (worst piece of shit I've ever driven....) and the Plymouth Volare, which was one of my favorite cars ever. Seriously (stop laughing, damnit!) that was a great car. It actually felt like you were driving a car, not like most of the toys around today. That car saved my life, too..... It was an accident on the highway going like 85-90 mph. Someday if prompted properly, I'll tell the whole story. that was a GREAT car... almost as good as my 69 Chevelle... almost.

My first car was a '72 Chevy Vega.

I could have chosen a Dodge Dart instead. I was 19 and stupid. I thought the Vega looked cooler.

It's the reason I spent the week between Christmas and New Year's in Rogue River, Oregon (pop. 923). I was driving south from Tacoma to San Diego.

Broke down again in San Francisco, Haight-Ashbury district, because the fan belt broke. At least that was a quick fix. And I did decline the opportunity to crash at a party that two hippies were heading to. "Just until the Triple-A dude gets here, man."

Uh, no thanks.
